Hi Pat! Very happy to hear your enjoying the league! Thank you and all the players up there in Michigan for supporting straight pool! I think mostly players like the challenge of the game of masters and also the individual play format, something different than the normal team play format.

I go by the handle Putz. My name is Pat Timmins. I live in South Lyon, MI (about 30 miles west of Detroit).
I've been playing some kind of league pool for 30 years. This is the 1st time with 14.1. I played it many years ago and picked it up again 3-4 years ago. I'm really enjoying the game. Our league shoots out of Rocky's Bank Shot in Brighton, MI.
We have managed to bring in several good shots from the local BCA 8 Ball league. I'm hoping we can drag in several more in the seasons ahead.

(3) Pool Publications, the Newest one in called Stroke, and covers the East Coast of the US, (Florida north to Maine), the other publication is called Rackem it covers the Midwest (Iowa, Minnesota, Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee Wisconsin, etc.), and last is The Break that has been around for years, and cover the West, (California, Texas, New Mexico, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Montana, etc., etc.) All publications can be read cover to cover on line monthly. We are proud to announce the 14and1.com Nationals in Atlantic City is now a sanctioned event with the National Championship Series (NCS). The winner of our nationals will recieve a paid entry into the Major 14.1 National Championships to be held at Comet Billiards in Parrsipany, NJ.

CueSports International announces Comet Billiards of Parsippany, New Jersey will be the host location of the NCS 14.1 Continuous National Championship July 31 August 2, 2009.
Comet Billiards is a choice location for this event as the ownership has long supported the art of straight pool (14.1) and is the home of the Accu-Stats Arena. Feature matches and the finals of the 3 day NCS 14.1 event will be streamed live by the Accu-Stats team led by Hall of Fame recipient Pat Fleming.
The field size at the event will be based on demand but not to exceed 64. In addition to cash and prizes the top two finishers of the national event at Comet will receive paid entry to the World 14.1 Championship August 25-30 at the Hilton in East Brunswick, New Jersey. To participate at the NCS 14.1 Continuous National Championship players must win a spot at qualifier tournaments scheduled around the country. The entry at each 14.1 qualifier will be $60 including green fees. The NCS is sponsored by OB Cues, and the DELTA-13 Rack.
